According to a recent poll from the National Sleep Foundation, 58% of adults in the United States experience symptoms of insomnia a few nights a week or more. Insomnia can manifest as difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep, or waking too early in the morning. The word “insomnia” is derived from the Latin “in”, meaning “no,” and “somnus,” meaning “sleep.” Insomnia means, literally, no sleep. However, how this 58% of the population deals with insomnia differs greatly.
