How to Minimize Jetlag

When you are traveling a long distance, it almost seems unavoidable that you will have some jet lag, and spent at least a part of your trip being tired and run down. There are many ways to relieve jetlag, so that it does not take away some of the fun of your trip.

As soon as you get on the plane, change your watch to the destination time. That way you will start thinking as if that is the current time, and you can start getting your mind adjusted to the new time.

Drink a lot of water while you are on the plane. If you are dehydrated, the jetlag will affect you a lot more; so make sure that you drink a lot of fluids on the way to your destination.

Try to slowly adjust to your new time zone a few days before leaving, if possible. If you must, take a short nap, but not one that is too long or you will continue the cycle of jetlag.

Since your internal clock is based on sunlight, once you get to your destination, try to be out in the sunlight if you can. This will help reset your internal clock, and make it easier for you to adjust to the new time zone.

If you are only going to be at your destination for a few days, it really isn
